The “Liberated Africans and the Abolition of the Slave Trade” was a 3-day conference that took place on June 10-12, 2017 at York University in Toronto. The conference featured several African History, Digital Humanities and multi-disciplinary scholars, as well as researchers investigating topics related to Diaspora research. This conference was spearheaded by Paul Lovejoy, Richard Anderson and Henry Lovejoy, and was supported by a conference fund from York University in Toronto. Supported by an SSHRC Connections Grant.
